Pavithraa is a Licensed Counsellor with experience in humanitarian support, psychosocial interventions and evidence-based counselling across diverse populations. Her clinical toolkit combines trauma-informed care, individual supportive counselling, crisis intervention, thorough case documentation, and resource mapping. Pavithraa’s approach is based on cultural humility and client empowerment, valuing people’s strengths and resilience. She often begins with understanding clients’ unique situation, culture and history, then, she works with the client to set goals together and implement individualized coping plans based on evidence-based practice.
She works with an integrative, evidence-based integrative approach that recognizes the therapeutic relationship as the cornerstone to healing.
She specializes in working with adolescents, vulnerable populations such as refugees and adults experiencing identity questions, relationship challenges, emotional distress and life transitions. She has experience with individual and group counselling in education and rehabilitation, comprehensive psychosocial assessments, resource mapping, referral management and crisis support. She combines therapeutic skills grounded in evidence, such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, trauma-informed care and person-centred counselling with advocacy and community capacity building, ensuring that therapy is comprehensive and respects the dignity of clients and meets their immediate psychological needs as well as addressing factors that influence their well-being.
