Dr. Reshma Stanislaus is a medical doctor, Board-Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician, and Emotional Fitness and Mental Well-being Coach. At the heart of her work is the belief that mental health is physical health. Emotional well-being is closely connected with sleep, nutrition, movement, metabolic health, stress physiology, relationships, and the environments in which we live. Through ZILOY, Dr. Reshma offers a warm, respectful, and non-judgmental space for clients experiencing emotional overwhelm, prolonged stress, burnout, care-giving pressures, relationship difficulties, or challenging life transitions.
A distinctive part of her approach is recognizing relationships as an important pillar of health. Supportive relationships can strengthen emotional resilience and overall well-being, while persistently difficult, unhealthy, or dysfunctional relationship patterns may contribute to chronic stress, poor sleep, emotional exhaustion, and unhealthy coping behaviours.
She helps clients better understand their relationship patterns, identify their personal needs and values, and develop healthier boundaries. Drawing on modalities in which she has received training, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and mindfulness-based approaches, she supports clients in managing their emotions, recognizing unhelpful patterns, and protecting their well-being without losing compassion for themselves or others.
Her sessions may also incorporate practical lifestyle medicine prescriptions related to restorative sleep, nourishing food patterns, appropriate physical activity, stress management, social connection, and reducing harmful habits. Recommendations are personalized to each client’s health, culture, responsibilities, values, and readiness for change.
Dr. Reshma also draws upon emerging concepts from metabolic psychiatry, which examines how factors such as blood-glucose regulation, insulin resistance, inflammation, nutrition, sleep, physical activity, and energy metabolism may influence brain function and emotional well-being. She applies these concepts carefully within a broader evidence-informed framework and encourages appropriate medical, psychological, or psychiatric assessment when required. Lifestyle support is intended to complement, not replace, necessary clinical treatment.
Dr. Reshma holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English from the University of Manitoba and an MBBS from AIMST University. She is a Diplomate of the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine and has completed the Certificate in Mental Health for General Practitioners. Her experience includes work with the MIASA Crisis Team, facilitating Wellness and Recovery programmes with the Malaysian Mental Health Association, and co-chairing the UNITE vitiligo support community under the Global Vitiligo Foundation.
Her goal is to help clients understand the connections between mind, body, relationships, and everyday life, equipping them with practical tools to move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional resilience.
