Clinical Psychologist

MAHPC(CP)00529 | CP1-0550

Tan Min Yi holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across a range of settings, including NGOs, hospitals, and private practices. Her clinical work includes providing psychotherapy and psychological assessments, including cognitive, adaptive, social, emotional, and behavioural assessments. She works with clients experiencing a range of concerns, including neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, depression, stress-related difficulties, mood difficulties, grief and loss, adjustment difficulties, emotional regulation, and interpersonal and relationship concerns.

Her primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), while integrating techniques from other approaches according to each client’s needs and preferences. These include distress tolerance and emotion regulation strategies from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), as well as mindfulness, values exploration, and committed action from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She aims to create a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their concerns and experiences. Through a collaborative and individualised approach, she supports clients in developing greater self-understanding, building practical coping skills, managing emotional difficulties, and working towards meaningful and sustainable change.

Before becoming a Clinical Psychologist, Tan Min Yi worked as an educator in a special needs centre for several years. This experience allowed her to work closely with children with diverse developmental and learning needs, as well as their families. It also strengthened her understanding of the challenges caregivers may experience when supporting their children and the importance of providing practical, accessible, and individualised support.

She is passionate about helping individuals and families better understand their psychological and developmental needs. She believes that greater understanding can empower clients to make informed choices about their well-being and identify strategies that work for them. She strives to provide personalised support that recognises each client’s unique experiences, strengths, values, and goals, while supporting their psychological well-being and overall quality of life.
