Dr Christine graduated from Universiti Malaya in 1994. During her undergraduate studies, she was awarded the Psychiatry Book Prize in 1993. In 2000, she obtained her postgraduate Diploma in Reproductive Medicine from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She completed a 6-month training course in Mental Health in 2024, conducted by Malaysian Society for Academic Psychiatry in collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. In 2026, she completed a 6-week course in Clinical Excellence in Chronic Kidney Disease, certified by Universiti Malaya Medical Centre and endorsed by Malaysian Society of Nephrology.
Dr Christine served the government at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, rotating through Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics and Paediatrics. She spent 2 years in Psychiatry: covering General Psychiatry for 13 months, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for 6.5 months and Psychogeriatrics for 4.5 months.
Since moving to private practice in 1998, she has been a General Practitioner with special interest in Mental Health, including counselling and management of basic psychiatric disorders.
Her other areas of expertise include childhood nutrition, children and women. She is also a certified lactation counsellor.
Currently a senior GP in Klinik Ng dan Singh , she is knowledgeable, competent and very actively involved in Continuous Professional Development every weekend.
Dr Christine is conversant in English, Malay, Hokkien, Cantonese and Bahasa Indonesia. She is married with 2 adult children.
Being passionate about teaching the next generation of doctors, Dr Christine mentors medical students from local universities and from abroad. Since 2018, she has been medical team leader for her church annual medical mission trips, bringing healthcare to the poverty-stricken Orang Asli in rural Pahang. She enjoys reading, cooking (and eating), travelling and playing the violin ( she learnt as an adult in her forties) ,not so much the piano, although it was her first instrument.
Dr Christine cares deeply about all her patients, which is her superpower. One lesson she has learnt through 3 decades as a doctor, is that taking care of one’s own mental health and well-being is of paramount importance. One cannot pour from an empty cup.
